 General Notes:
In 1841, John is living with William & Sarah Lagden, at Howe Green, Stebbing. He is probably their grandson. Also living there is a Mary Barnard, probably the daughter of Thomas Barnard & Mary Lagden.
In 1881, John is living in Star Lane, Great Dunmow with his wife Eliza and also a 65 year old widow Eliza Gunn, and also a 2 year old Emma May born in Great Oakley.
Interestingly, an Eliza Gunn, aged 46 and born in Gt Dunmow shows uo in the 1861 index, with a daughter Harriet aged 10, but no husband. I need to recheck the census for this.
In the 1891 census, Emma M Lagden is shown as being the niece of John, although I cannot find her on the civil registration at the moment.
I am yet to find any children of this marriage.
John married Eliza. (Eliza was born about 1842 in Great Dunmow.)
