There is a Samuel Holbrook, born in 1774 in Doddinghurst - I am going to accept this as this Samuel Holbrook
In 1851, in South Weald, he is a widower aged 76, living in the alms house next to the Spread Eagle

Samuel married Sarah English on 2 Aug 1800 in Hutton. (Sarah English was born about 1776 and died before 1851.)
